Is Luke Williams the Jon Berti of 3 Years Ago?

Few remember Jon Berti as a 29 Year Old Rookie in 2019 on a Rebuilding Marlins Squad that lost 105 Games in Year 2 of the Derek Jeter/Bruce Sherman "Build".  In a Season (2019) which saw quote on quote Top "Prospects" like Isan Diaz make their MLB Debut on the Infield & Lewis Brinson receive more chances to stick in the Miami Outfield, it was Berti's ability to play both (and at a way higher level Defensively and Offensively) that caught people's attention in South Florida.  3 Years later, ironically due to Injuries to the same Berti, along with fellow Infielders Brian Anderson & Jazz Chisholm, 25 Year Old/2nd Year Player Luke Williams has impressed in a limited role for the 2022 Marlins. Luke Williams' journey to Miami has been an interesting one to say the least. To call Williams, a 3rd Round Pick back in 2015 by the Philadelphia Phillies, a 'Prospect' by 2021 would be far fetched.  The Philly Farm Hand however was chosen to play for

Time to Sell?!

With the MLB Trading Deadline today at 6 P.M, one could easily assume that our Title above ⬆️ only refers to Transactions of Players as it pertains to our Marlins. After all, the Fish should be Sellers before 6 O'clock to try and build a better future for 2023 & beyond.   The Marlins should use today to try and improve one of the weakest Offenses in Franchise History, one that can simply not keep pace with their very Talented Pitching Staff, 5 years and counting. So excuse us when we say we've seen this 'Fish  Tale' before. The Club desperately needs Bats! The same way they desperately needed Offense in 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018.   Even the 2020 Playoff Marlins needed Offensive help, and they got it in the form of Starling Marte. Marte, who told the Club would have signed Extension in Miami last July for $50 Million Dollars over 4 Years, was denied that 4th year by the Marlins, only to be offered it by the Fish in November. Marte wounded up Signing a 4 Year Deal
