Spring's eternal

Image
The Marlins kicked off Spring Training last week with Pitchers & Catchers (more on the former in a second). The entire full Squad got things going "officially" Monday, though a substantial amount of Position Players were in Jupiter long before, chomping at the bit. Admittedly we began this post over the weekend prior to Owner Bruce Sherman & President Peter Bendix holding their recurrent specious media scrum to kick off the Spring. As has been the case with these sort of gatherings of Fish higher-ups of late, the terminology of being 'utterly oblivious' to the surroundings of the Ballclub, I think fits to a baseball tee.     It doesn't necessitate a  listen to all the 'analysts' on pods or read the many projections from so called 'insiders' to know the Marlins have or will be picked by almost everybody to finish dead last in their Division and probably the entire National League. That's something that's been brought upon themselves ...

'Marlins Media Day 2025' Sandy Alc...

Finally, some genuine good news to report regarding the Marlins. Over at the annual FanFest on Saturday, the Fish announced a Marlins Legends Hall of Fame. The inaugural first class will feature Mr. Marlin Jeff Conine, Luis 'Louey' Castillo, and Word Series Wining Managers Jeff Leyland & Jack McKeon. Sincerely well done and long long overdue. We had a little fun over the weekend going in the opposite direction with regards to Marlins Legends. Going with the worst of the worst in Fish History. We gave you our Position Players, now let's delve into whom stunk it up on the mound. An antithesis Legends Hall of Fame if you will. Wei-Yin Chen The hands down Ace of the opposite Marlins Rotation is without question Wei-Yin Chen. You see, Signing a 5 Year Contract for $80 Million Dollars (the richest handed out by the Fish to a Pitcher EVER), only to win all of 13 Games to the tune of a of 5.10 ERA, will do that to ya. The Organization decided to pay Chen $20 Million (what wa...

Worst of the Worst

A good amount of years ago we came up with our Son Los Marlins 'All-Time' Team . A few things have certainty changed since 2020, the Fish were in the Playoffs a couple times, Sandy Alcantara may or may not have (I mean, it's hard to take out any of those 5) sneaked into our 'All-Time' Rotation (we'll just call it a 6-man staff) following a Cy Young Award in 2022, Tanner Scott for the ' Pen ! But for the most part, I'd say that list would stay almost intact. Marlins X's John Rodriguez had a really  cool graphic last week, depicting his Marlins Diamond & Gold Teams, even including a Manager for both. Seeing as it's FanFest over at the Depot this weekend, where supposedly there will be ex "Alumni Announcements", thought we could have a little fun. Let's pull an episode out of Seinfeld titled "Biazzaro Jerry" and do an opposite list. Obviously talent won't have anything to do with it, as it's just for shits n gi...
