  What a sportserrific summer it has been.   The Florida Panthers Won back to back Stanley Cups!! How about that! Congratulations Florida!!! The Panthers faced off against the Edmonton Oilers for the 2nd consecutive year, taking the Title home in 6 Games this time around. '25 also marked the 3rd consecutive Stanley Cup Finals appearance for the home Team. Speaking of goals, Toluca FC dethroned Club America in Liga MX, after las Aguilas had won the previous 3 Mexican Football Titles. The CONCACAF Gold Cup wrapped up with Mexico defeating Team USA 2-1 to take home the prize. Also having taken place in the United States, the new imagined Clubs World Cup saw Chelsea come out victorious over PSG. Preceding these events, Memorial Day came and went. It always served as a day in Major League Baseball when things certainly begin to spice up regarding   the Standings, and yes, the red hottt Marlins have been taking a look at those Wild Card Standings since the end of June. Hotlanta, a Road Trip with the Marlins 😠

Pheww, what a difference a week makes sometimes in Major League Baseball. The Marlins found this out firsthand, after riding so much momentum since late June (a complete 180 of the first 3 months to the 2025 Season), finishing off a Sweep of the New York Yankees at home which saw the Club finally reach .500. The Fightn' Fish then dropped a Series to the Houston Astros in Miami, though at the very least capturing the finale to secure yet another Winning home stand. Next came a 5 Game Series at the Atlanta Braves, with a Double-Header on Saturday thanks to a postponed Game all the way back in early April. If you thought Atlanta's Roster was weak then, try going into this weekend Series against the Fish without Austin Riley, Ronald Acu ñ a (who was out in April as well), not having to face Spencer Strider. Money well spent?!

  It's no secret the Marlins are going into 2025 with the lowest payroll in Major League Baseball. That's been well publicized, following a 2023-2024 Off-Season during which they signed exactly 1 Free-Agent (Tim Anderson, 1 yr/$5 Million Dollars), along with just this past Winter where they soley Inked Cal Quantrill to a 1 Year/$3.5 Million Dollar Contract. We've hinted on the Fish Front Office shedding almost every Player whom is making (either now or in the near future ) more than the MLB minimum. We've also touched on ⬇️ reasoning ⤵️ behind the why that very well could be.   Former Cy Young Winner Sandy Alcántara is the leader on the Field and in Player Payroll heading into the new Season. After signing a 5 Year $56 Million Dollar Extension following the 2021 Campaign, Sandy has 3 Seasons of Club control left, with a Team Option for 2027.
