Let's Go Fish!



This Franchise has been hear before, needing to win 3 straight elimination Games in an October Series of '03. This Team, this year, has seemingly had their backs against the wall from the get go. Why should this moment, right now, be any different?! The Braves have taken the first 2 Games in their best of 5 Series against our Fish. The Marlins will have to win 3 in a row in order to take down Atlanta, but it starts today, now. 23 year old Josh Beckett stepped up 17 years ago in a very similar situation against the Cubs, tossing a Complete Game Shutout, after Chicago took a 3 Games to 1 lead. Can 22 year old Sixto Sanchez come up similarly big for the Fish today, against a very tough Braves Lineup? Here's a little known fact, Atlanta is out of Starting Pitching. There's a new twist to the Division Series in 2020, each Game of the Series will be played continuously. No off-days in between Games 2 & 4. We knew coming in Atlanta had Max Fried & Ian Anderson at the top of their Rotation, but today they go with Kyle Wright. Wright, who was 2-4 with a 5.21 ERA in 2020, can thank the Marlins for that loosing record & high ERA. He was 0-2 against the Marlins, with a 10.28 ERA durring the 2020 Campaign.







 There's no love-lost between these 2 Teams. It wouldn't hurt the Marlins to feed off that today. Team Captain Miguel Rojas tried to bring some of that energy yesterday in the 5th. Manager Don Mattingly 🙈, I've seen corpses with more energy in a Dugout. Hopefully the Skipper goes with Starting Catcher Jorge Alfaro for the first time this Postseason behind the dish. I'm also calling out Corey Dickerson & Matt Joyce, who had subpar Regular Seasons, and our a combined 3 for 25 in the Postseason. Let's Go gentlemen! Easy 🤔, we've covered this here at Son Los Marlins, and the Fish lost an anchor to their Lineup in Starling Marte during the Cubs' Series. A Magnueris Sierra has stepped up with that "next man up mentality". That's what it will take. Next Game up, next Inning, next Pitch. You can't win 3 Games today, but you can take it to the Braves right now. That should be the focus, that will get you to tomorrow, to Saturday, to Arlington. Let's Go Fish!

  If the old baseball song 'Take me out the Ballgame' ever rung more veracious today for the Marlins, it'd have to be the part where it goes "If they don't win it's a Shame". Because I don't think there's a better word to describe the Fish right now, than shame. Shame that the Marlins stand here today with a record of 6-23, after just making the Playoffs last Season. Shame, that they blew a 7 to Nothing Lead to the Washington Nationals yesterday afternoon. Shame that the Marlins have yet to win a single Series in 2024.   With the Marlins in absolute full self destruction mode thanks to the guidance of Owner Bruce Sherman, President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix, Manager Skip Schumaker and plenty of Players who can't bat their weight & a lot of Pitchers with ERA's over 6. Let's instead turn our attention to the squared circle, where Fighters are allowed to take out some frustrations on one another. Can only get better from here?

  No way around it. The Marlins have started the Season as bad as it gets in the Win/Loss column. A straight O for 5 to commence 2024. Frustration was palpable inside the Marlins Dugout last night. A 4 Game Sweep at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates was followed by a 7-4 Loss to the Angels to commence a new Series and the month of April, all at Home. The Marlins lost a 3 Run Lead on Opening Day, a 5 Run Advantage on Sunday, and a 4-0 start to yesterday's Game. The Shutdown Inning from their Starters has been nonapparent each time the Fish have scored first, from Jesus Luzardo on Opening Day, to Trevor Rogers & Max Meyer having both been given big leads in the First Inning. Not to mention short Starts from A.J Puk & David Weathers.  The Marlins Offense is the one that does seem to shutdown after some early hot starts. The Fish bats went 0-14 over the final 6 Innings on Opening Day in route to their 12 Inning Defeat against the Bucs. Yesterday, the Club did not put up a sin
