The 2025 World Series is set. The Toronto Blue Jays will attempt to dethrone the L.A Dodgers not only for Canada, but for what feels like the majority of America as well. It's just that between L.A's $393,750,000 Payroll, Shohei Ohtani's gambling scandal being completely/peculiarly swept away, the manner in which the Dodgers have pretty much screwed the State of California through deferred salaries (where the majority of player compensation will be handed out once said Players will be living outside the State), or Los Angeles, yes Los Angeles doing this in April ↓.
Genúg of the Dodgers!
The '25 Fall Classic will put a bow on the Major League Baseball year. Down in the Minor Leagues, a little less than a month ago the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp captured the Marlins Franchise's first ever Triple-A Championship. What was a truly dominant Season in Duval from the start, the Jumbo Shrimp squared off with Scranton Wilkes-Barre in a 2 out of 3 Series for the International League Championship. After building an impressive early lead in the deciding Game 3, Jacksonville would hold on late to capture the League Title and punch their ticket to Las Vegas, where they would face the Champs of the other AAA League (PCL), the Las Vegas Aviators in a winner take all Game broadcasted nationally.
The Shrimp would take a 6-1 lead into the 8th and a 6-2 lead into the 9th Inning of that AAA National Championship Game, after Home Runs earlier in the contest from Jack Winkler & Joe Mack. However, the Aviators would stage a dramatic comeback. Following a massive HR from Bryan Lavastida, Las Vegas was, just like that, in front heading into the Bottom of the 9th.
Seeing as Jacksonville was the home team during the contest despite being in Las Vegas, the Shrimp had a 9th Inning response of their own. Winkler drew a leadoff walk, Victor Mesa Jr. just missed a walk-off 2 run shot, but would eventually K. It then brought up Jacob Berry, a former Marlins 1st Rd. pick (2022) who's had his fair share of struggles since becoming a professional. Berry slammed a ball into right-center, deep into the Las Vegas night. The Jumbo Shrimp Bullpen, whom were located near where the ball landed, stormed onto the field before the baseball had even touched down. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp were Champions of Triple-A!
