The Marlins inked veteran Lefty Gio Gonzalez to a Minor League Deal this morning. Gio, a Pro for the last 17 Years, can easily secure a spot in the Marlins’ Rotation with a decent showing this Spring. He’d be a very welcome addition knowing our Fish will ease the workload on their Talented, but Young, nucleus of Arms. You already had Manager Don Mattingly instructed not to include Sixto Sanchez’s name when mentioning Rotation 🔒locks🔒 in that Starting Staff for ’21. That’s not because Sixto needs more developing (he didn’t need Developing when the Marlins handed him the Ball for not 1, but 2 Playoff Starts last October). It’s for the simple fact Sanchez has not Pitched more than 114 Innings in any Professional Season. Florida will ease their Number 1 Prospect gradually into the 2021 campaign (He just threw his first Bullpen session of the Spring yesterday), understandably so, and he’s not alone. Other Top Prospects in Lefties Trevor Rogers & Braxton Garrett fit this same bill. Rogers’ career high in Innings is 136, Garrett’s is 106, both accomplished in 2019. This puts even more emphasis on a Minor League Contract that could soon pay Big League dividends signed by 1 Gio Gonzalez, who has topped 170 MLB Innings 7 Times throughout a very long career.

  The Rematch for the Heavyweight Title in the sport of Boxing is set for Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Undisputed Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk defends his crown against the best big-man in Boxing of this generation, Tyson Fury. After such a closely contested Fight this past May, which saw Usyk narrow out a Split-Decision, there's high anticipation for Saturday in the desert. Less than 7 months ago we witnessed the first 'Undisputed' Heavyweight Championship Boxing Match since 1999, which saw Usyk nearly stop Fury in Rd. 9, after a flurry of combinations to the kisser had the 6'9 Englishman on queer street.   As the Marlins completed their penultimate Road Trip of 2024, going 1-6 against two mediocre Teams of the National League in Pittsburgh & Washington, they'll now return Home to face the Club with the 2nd best record in all of Baseball in the L.A Dodgers starting tomorrow night. The Fish now stand at 55-95, a whopping 40 Games Under .500 with 12 Games remaining. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp still have a week to go on their 2024 Calendar, the last Marlins Minor League Affiliate with Game action remaining. Lefthander Dale Stanavich will get a Promotion for this final week from Double-A Pensacola, who played their final Contest of 2024 yesterday. Stanavich put up some solid numbers out of the Blue Wahoos Bullpen and was a part of the 2023 Jupiter Hammerheads Title run last year.
