One of the most impressive victories in not only recent Marlins memory, but in their 28 Season History. That's what took place Sunday, July 26th, 2020.
Yes, it sealed a series win in Philadelphia to kick off the Season. Yes, they erased a 4-nothing deficit to do it.. But that doesn't even begin to tell todays Fish-Tale...
In what is turning out to be 1 crazy pandemic Season in Major League Baseball, and in Sports in general, Miami gave way to news 90 minutes prior to Game-Time, that they're Game-Day Starting Pitcher had tested positive for Covid-19, and he wasn't alone. 2 starting position players had also tested positive for the virus prior to the Game, hitting the Fish with massive both physical, and mental blows.
It was now 4 players in 3 days that had gone down with the illness, following their starting Catcher, who had come down with Coronavirus heading into Opening Day. The circumstances, the mental state of each ballplayer with everything going on Covid related, seeing their Teammates (though not showing symptoms) getting hit with the virus, each & every possible doubt creeping in, and it was all someway, somehow overcome by the Marlins.
This truly unreal gritty performance, led by their captain Miguel Rojas, sealed an improbable, and most certainly impressive victory. I don't know what will happen this 2020 Baseball Season, that may or may not finish, but I can most certainly say that today, I am very proud to be a Marlin ⚾. #GoFish ⚾⚾
