Decisions, decisions 🤔

The Marlins have some decisions to make. They'll need a 30 Man Roster by Friday to face the Philadelphia Phillies. But there is a catch. Every player on that 30 Man Squad has to be on Miami's 40 Man Roster. 

We told you here at Son Los Marlins that the Fish would want to wait at least a week with a Player like Monte Harrison before calling him up to the Show. That only makes business sense, to wait a week, and gain a year of his Service in the future. The news has since broken that Harrison won't be with the Marlins on Friday in Philadelphia 😉, but they will have to potentially burn a few others' service year. 

It will not be as easy as bringing up lets say guys "like" Ryan Lavarnway & Sean Rodriguez. Because for every guy like Lavarnway & Rodriguez, you have to bump potential Prospects off you're 40 Man Roster in order to include them, and potentially risk losing those Prospects on Waivers in the process. That's where the Marlins will have to bite the bullet with a few Prospects now by placing them on their initial 30 Man Team, in the sense if they were to continue on the Marlins this year, it would count as a full-service year, even though only 60 Games are being played. By doing that, they're potentially 

losing that extra year on their contracts down the road. 

This bolds really well for potential Bullpen pieces in my opinion. You could potentially see someone like Jordan Holloway, who is not Big-League ready (hasn't pitched above Single-A), getting opportunities simply because they're already on the 40 Man Roster. All while the Marlins WILL potentially have to include the likes of Brad Boxberger or Alex Vesia on that 40-Man in order to play on Friday. 

It will be very interesting to see who the Fish deem expendable in the coming days. Expendable in not only bumping someone off the Team, but placing them on it 🤔, because they feel ok with losing them 1 year earlier then they'd like.
