🙈

Son Los Marlins said it many times in the year 2019, extending Manager Don Mattingly to be at the helm of your Club, was not a good idea 🙈. After the Marlins hot 7-1 start, many were quick to praise Mattingly for all the success. The truth of the matter was, a lot of Players came in extremely hungry for the Opportunity the Marlins were providing, especially out of the Bullpen. Many men were put in positions you normally would not see them in (Even with so many guys out), and finding ‘success’ at the Big League level. Now, would you call that good Managing? I guess it depends huh. Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, who now is an analyst for TBS, once covered a Playoff Elimination Game for the L.A. Dodgers in 2015. The Manager of that Team, Don Mattingly. Pedro joked on air that it seemed Mattingly would put player’s names in a hat, juggle it around a little bit, then pick a name who would either come off the bench or out of the Bullpen 🙈, based on his decision making. By the way, L.A. never made it very far into October until Mattingy's departure. During the Fish's hot streak, Stephen Tarpley Saved a Game in Baltimore. Nick Vincent went 2 Innings for his Save in New York. I understand there must be an adjustment period in order to get to know a lot of your Players. But take Monte Harrison for example, it does not take a Baseball genius to see with his long swing path, he’s not catching up to velocity right now. So in New York, after having already struck out 3 times against Jacob DeGrom’s Fastball, the decision was made to let him take the AB against Edwin Diaz with the tying runs in scoring position, and a full bench. Almost the same decision was made last night, only this time they Pinch-Hit Harrison in the same 8th Inning, against a Lefty who throws particularly hard. The results were the same, a strike out, a Marlins Loss ðŸ™ˆ

There are some things out of Mattingly's control here in Miami, I'm sure. I'd find it hard to believe he’s recommending the Front Office maintain Lewis Brinson up in the Big-Leagues. Brinson I’ve gone on record as saying, is the worst Ballplayer this Franchise has ever seen, and I’ve been around to see some bad ones ðŸ™ˆ. But he’s still here with the Marlins, even Batting 5th, despite having a Career slash line of .181/.237/.289. Think about that for a sec! He’s played in 216 Career GAMES! I’m mind boggled here, I truly am. He's part of the worst Trade in Marlins History, that's not gonna magically change by continuing to play the man, I mean for the love of Baseball sake ðŸ™ˆ. Couple that with Mattingly having Brinson, Harrison, and Logan Forsythe in the same Lineup. This trio is a combined 10 for 79 in 2020. That’s a .126 Collective Batting Average folks, and all 3 are back in there today against a Righty. ðŸ™ˆ. Well, they were. Game tonight has been Postponed (Covid-19) ðŸ™ˆðŸ™ˆðŸ™ˆ.
