Premios Marlins

Something about playing against your former Team/Organization brings out the best out of many a Big Leaguer. The Marlins are no exception to this, they saw it a couple weeks ago when Adam Duvall scorched the Braves when returning to Atlanta for the first time in a Miami uniform. Now the Fish find themselves in Milwaukee after they're Series opening win 8-0 over the Brew-Crew last night.  Jesus Aguilar is the most obvious former Brewer on the Marlins. His 2018 Season in Wisconsin earned Aguilar a trip to the All-Star Game/Home Run Derby and it helped propell Milwaukee to within a Game of the World Series. This marks the first time 'Agui' plays his former Team and it comes at quite the 🔥 moment 🔥 after Homering in 3 straight Games in San Francisco over the Weekend.  He's not alone, Lewis Brinson was the Brewers #1 Prospect when he was Traded to the Marlins in 2018. His first Game against the Team that he broke into the Big-Leagues with in 2017 featured a 2 Home Run pe

An outstanding debut for the newest Marlins Catcher Sandy Leon yesterday. Leon was given the chance behind the Plate after Jorge Alfaro was placed on the Injured List. Twice in as many Games, Don Mattingly yanked (no pun intended) a Miami Player from the Field who would later be placed on the I.L. On Sunday it was discovered Starling Marte had a fractured rib, an Injury he may have had for a while, but playing with it at an extremely high level. Marte was very hesitant, even adamant at times in wanting to stay in the Game. Starling "the Marlin" may have known an I.L stint was imminent and certainly did not want to lose a minimum of 10 days. Same with Alfaro, who clearly was limping in Atlanta after missing a few Games with Hamstring issues, and again wobbly on his feet after his massive Walk-Off hit against the Giants on Saturday. After beating out an Infield hit Tuesday against the Orioles, Mattingly also would not allow the red-hot Alfaro to continue. This openned an oppo

The Mets' Michael Conforto after being hit by a Pitch in yesterday's Ballgame.     Hard to believe how yesterday's Marlins Game against the New York Mets ended. Even for Marlins Standards, the call that was "overturned" to end Thursday's Game, was Brutal. It's hard to explain such Horse Hockey, so here's the video instead.   After Homeplate Umpire Ron Kulpa CALLED Strike 3 on the Mets' Michael Conforto on a pitch OVER the Plate, he then ruled the Mets Outfielder was hit by the Pitch, REWARDING him 1st Base, and New York a Victory. Under the oldest of old Baseball rules, a Batter must make an attempt to avoid being struck by the Ball. In other words, under an Umpire's discretion, he may rule a Batter purposely was attempting to be hit by a pitch. Something looking similar to what happened in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series last year ⬇️. In Conforto's case, the Ball CROSSED the Plate. You can't have a Called Strike Hit By Pitch if the B

Big early Win for the Fish on Saturday, their first of the 2021 Season. Tampa Bay, fresh off a World Series appearance came as advertised, while the Marlins & Rays went toe to toe, especially on the Pitching side of things. Days-off seem to come in inopportune times for the Marlins, who had 3 days off between their final Exhibition Game and Opening Day, while not playing on Sunday after puting up 12 Runs on the Rays in the finale of their Opening Series. Speaking of Offense, our Fish welcome a loaded Cardinals' Offense to Miami tonight to kick off a 3 Game Set. A nice early test. The Atlanta Braves lost the 2021 All-Star Game this weekend. There were rumors circulating that the All-Star Game and all the festivities that surround it could be brought back to Florida. It would bring an obviously huge economic bump back to the Marlins. It also would be a safe decision for MLB, as the State of Florida has been one of the most lenient States throughout the Pandemic. There would be
