As the Trade Deadline has come (This Friday), the Marlins will and should be looking to Trade many pieces away in hopes to grab solid returns on Players not part of the 2022 plan. But how should the Marlins go about identifying names which may include Starling Marte & Closer Yimi Garcia (Free Agents following the Season), to Adam Duvall (whose on a $2 Million Dollar Contract, owed $3 Million Dollars in October and/or could be retained in ’22 for $7 Million)? Players who are impending Free Agents may/will not be the only ones shopped. 1 st Basemen Jesus Aguilar (Leader in N.L in RBI’s), to Relievers Dylan Floro & Richard Bleier (Who have been solid in the Late Innings in Miami) all our Arbitration eligible next year. Relievers will be in hot commodity in the coming days in the cases of both Floro & Bleier; While the Marlins may feel they have a 1 st Baseman or 1 st BaseMEN to replace Aguilar next year. But do they? Prospect Lewin Diaz was called up today, which could be

Our Marlins along with Derek Jeter and the Front Office brass are finding out the hard way you can’t just brush off certain aspects of the Club and expect everything to be ok. Especially when those areas are arguably the most important . The Marlins knew they had a Catching problem coming into 2021. So much so you heard the name Wilson Contreras floating around the Fish in Trade talks with the Chicago Cubs during the Off Season. Those rumors circulated because the Marlins benched Starting Catcher Jorge Alfaro during the Playoffs. We are all now seeing why Alfaro wasn’t in the Lineup when it mattered most. That’s the irony of it all. Jeter & the Front Office decided to stick with Alfaro going into ’21 and the results have been disastrous. So much so that Alfaro has turned himself into a tremendous liability behind the plate. To the extent it’s hard to fathom him being behind the dish every day, even for a Team 13 Games under .500. Jorge is making $2 Million in Arbitration this year

"Up, up and away"

.161/.282/.290 with only 2 Stolen Bases and 2 Caught Stealing's. Those were Jon Berti's numbers going into a Phillies Series on May 24th. A far cry from the On Base Percentage well over .350 Berti had accumulated during his first 2 Season's in a Marlins Uniform, which saw him Steal 27 Bases to only 5 Caught Stealing's and Score 73 Runs in 112 Games.   What a turnaround it’s been and at what a moment it has come for the often underappreciated Utility Speedster. Berti entered that May 24 th Contest for Starting 3 rd Basemen Brian Anderson, who separated his Shoulder on a slide attempt. He’s gone on to Start, has Jon Berti, in 29 of the Marlins last 32 Games. Hit a cool .299, with a tremendous On Base Percentage of .378, Steal 5 Bases in 7 Attempts and also come through in clutch spots with 10 RBI’s. The 10 Runs Driven for Berti are only behind Adam Duvall, Jazz Chisholm, and Jesus Aguilar in that same time frame on the Fish.   The Marlins will continue to rely heavily
