Campamento Marlins

Getting to know the Number

It's that time of year. A time when you'll see double ear flaps on Batting Helmets, sunglasses that look like they were worn by Brett "The Hitman" Hart in 1996, and Uniforms with no name on the back. All of this being nothing new for 1 Ray-Patrick Didder. Didder, who was born in Aruba, originally signed with the Atlanta Braves in 2013, where he saw his first Big League Spring Training in 2017, and is now entering his first Season in the Marlins Organization after signing a Minor League Contract with the Fish this past November. The 27 year old Shortstop has had quite the journey from Atlanta's system to the Marlins', one which even included a stop in the Italian Baseball League. The Atlanta Braves. The San Diego Padres. The Los Angles Angels of Anaheim. UnipolSai Fortitudo Bologna?! 2020 may have wiped out a lot of Baseball here in the red, white, and blue. Didder however, who had signed prior to the 2020 Season with San Diego but did not appear in a Profess

As much Roster turnover as say, the Marlins Lineup has had over the last few months, with the additions of Avisail Garcia, Jorge Soler, Jacob Stallings, and Joey Wendle. Not to mention the additions by subtractions of Lewis Brinson, Jorge Alfaro, and Isan Diaz. The Marlins Bullpen has pretty much stayed the same since the end of last year, and that may not necessarily be all that of a bad thing. With the volatile nature that is Relieving from 1 Season to the next at times in Major League Baseball, the Marlins decided to allocate more of their Payroll recourses in upgrading the Offense this Off-Season, true. But don't discredit the fact that the Club retained a couple of their most reliable Veteran Relievers either. Groundball machine Richard Bleier and the Marlins came to terms yesterday on a 2 Year Contract extension that'll cover the Ballclub's most reliable Lefty's final year of Arbitration, as well 1 Free-Agent year. Total of the Deal was $6 Million Dollars and in

What could a '22 Marlins Lineup look like?!

With the Exhibition Schedule set to kick off tomorrow in West Palm Beach for the Marlins, what could a Batting Order look like on a Don Mattingly Lineup Card this year?  The Marlins have added 3 brand new Hitters to their Squad in the form of Avisail Garcia, Jacob Stallings, and Joey Wendle. While the entire National League has added the Designated Hitter, much to the delight of 1st Baseman/Outfielder and now potential DH Garrett Cooper, who was quoted last year as saying "MLB messed up by not incorporating" the DH a Season ago. Cooper says he is fully healthy after requiring Tommy John Surgery on his left arm in August. Coop was injured playing 1st Base in Philly last July, but assures he's ready to go. "I think the wrist surgery that 1st year here (was bigger) said Cooper, (the elbow) was probably best, recovery wise".  There have been many Ballplayers Coop's size (He's listed at 6'5/235 lbs) who have sustained many a injury over the years (think A

March Madness

Lockouts are over. Big League Camps have opened up. Spring Training Games kick off tomorrow. We're right smack dab in the middle of March ladies & gentlemen and it's a good time to be a Baseball fan. There truly is nothing in the Game like this time of year, when everything starts nuevo. This being especially true for the Marlins in 2022, the first in 5 years without former CEO Derek Jeter. Principal Marlins Owner/Chairman Bruce Sherman had quite the powerful message Monday in Jupiter in regards to kicking off a new Season of Marlins Baseball.  "This is about success on the field" Sherman said. "We can compete, we're a successful/wealthy ownership group". "We have to see the production on the field and will add the appropriate pieces at the appropriate time to win continually and consistently". Speaking specifically in regards to the Marlins needs from 1 Season to the next, Sherman was not one to mince words on Monday. "Last year was a
