Something about playing against your former Team/Organization brings out the best out of many a Big Leaguer. The Marlins are no exception to this, they saw it a couple weeks ago when Adam Duvall scorched the Braves when returning to Atlanta for the first time in a Miami uniform. Now the Fish find themselves in Milwaukee after they're Series opening win 8-0 over the Brew-Crew last night. 

Jesus Aguilar is the most obvious former Brewer on the Marlins. His 2018 Season in Wisconsin earned Aguilar a trip to the All-Star Game/Home Run Derby and it helped propell Milwaukee to within a Game of the World Series. This marks the first time 'Agui' plays his former Team and it comes at quite the 🔥 moment 🔥 after Homering in 3 straight Games in San Francisco over the Weekend. 

He's not alone, Lewis Brinson was the Brewers #1 Prospect when he was Traded to the Marlins in 2018. His first Game against the Team that he broke into the Big-Leagues with in 2017 featured a 2 Home Run perfromance at Miller Park from Brinson. 'Sweet Lew' ended up hitting 3 Dingers during that return Series in '18. 

There is 1 Player however that kind of gets forgotten when mentioning former Brewers Prospects. Garrett Cooper was a 6th Round Draft Pick by Milwaukee in 2013 before being dealt to the Yankees for Tyler Webb in July of '17. All 'Coop' has done in the 11 Games he's played against the Organization that Drafted him is hit .349/.404/.581, with 3 Bombs (Including last night), and 7 RBI's. With the Injurg bug biting the Marlins Offense of late, it's looking like it's a good time for a return to AFF for these former Cerveceros 🍺.

  If the old baseball song 'Take me out the Ballgame' ever rung more veracious today for the Marlins, it'd have to be the part where it goes "If they don't win it's a Shame". Because I don't think there's a better word to describe the Fish right now, than shame. Shame that the Marlins stand here today with a record of 6-23, after just making the Playoffs last Season. Shame, that they blew a 7 to Nothing Lead to the Washington Nationals yesterday afternoon. Shame that the Marlins have yet to win a single Series in 2024. Can only get better from here?

  No way around it. The Marlins have started the Season as bad as it gets in the Win/Loss column. A straight O for 5 to commence 2024. Frustration was palpable inside the Marlins Dugout last night. A 4 Game Sweep at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates was followed by a 7-4 Loss to the Angels to commence a new Series and the month of April, all at Home. The Marlins lost a 3 Run Lead on Opening Day, a 5 Run Advantage on Sunday, and a 4-0 start to yesterday's Game. The Shutdown Inning from their Starters has been nonapparent each time the Fish have scored first, from Jesus Luzardo on Opening Day, to Trevor Rogers & Max Meyer having both been given big leads in the First Inning. Not to mention short Starts from A.J Puk & David Weathers.  The Marlins Offense is the one that does seem to shutdown after some early hot starts.   As much Roster turnover as say, the Marlins Lineup has had over the last few months, with the additions of Avisail Garcia, Jorge Soler, Jacob Stallings, and Joey Wendle. Not to mention the additions by subtractions of Lewis Brinson, Jorge Alfaro, and Isan Diaz. The Marlins Bullpen has pretty much stayed the same since the end of last year, and that may not necessarily be all that of a bad thing. With the volatile nature that is Relieving from 1 Season to the next at times in Major League Baseball, the Marlins decided to allocate more of their Payroll recourses in upgrading the Offense this Off-Season, true. But don't discredit the fact that the Club retained a couple of their most reliable Veteran Relievers either. Groundball machine Richard Bleier and the Marlins came to terms yesterday on a 2 Year Contract extension that'll cover the Ballclub's most reliable Lefty's final year of Arbitration, as well 1 Free-Agent year.
