Teal Series

Winners of 12 of their last 15 Games (Including 8 of the last 9), and 5-1 on the Road in their last 6 Contests as the Visiting Club. The Marlins are carrying some serious momentum into their Series in Seattle that begins tonight, while contributions to said success can be attributed all over the diamond & mound for the Fish.

2 srike approach?! All I know is D. L. C. is slashing .343/.415/.598 with a 1.013 OPS in his last 27 Games 🔥.

Luis Arraez, a .402 Hitter just as of Saturday, continues to show why he's the biggest Off-Season trade acquisition for the Marlins since Sandy Alcantara in 2017?! While speaking of Acquisitions, the resurgence of Jorge Soler in 2023 makes it as if the Fish added a 2nd Off-Season major bat to their Lineup this year (I mean 17 Bombs, 38 RBI's, .346 OPB, .905 OPS 👍👌👍👌)!! And you still haven't even mentioned Bryan De La Cruz (Who's finally receiving his Everyday opportunity from start to finish), the young and very talented Starting Rotation for the Marlins, or their lights out Bullpen.

Yet, as if watching those infomercials that you hear at 3:30 in the morning; "But wait, there's more" 😉. As it pertains to our Marlins, Joey Wendle is Hitting .340 in his last 18 Games, after picking up a couple of really big Hits late in Contests off the Bench upon returning from the I.L. All after a really rough Spring & start to the Season for Wendlesaurus 🦖. Joey Wendle has been swinging it like Joey Wendle of late.

While speaking of big Hits, the overall numbers at the Dish have not been good for Jean Segura, despite playing some Gold Glove caliber Defense at a new Position over at 3B. However, 'Mean' Jean has sparked the Marlins with some massive Base Knocks in the clutch since the Fish's 5 Run 9th Inning Comeback in Atlanta on April 27th.

Leads only turn into Wins so long as you're Pitching Staff holds them, and the Marlins Bullpen for the most part has been nails, especially from the Left-hand side, receiving back another flame tossing Southpaw this past week in Closer A.J Puk from the I.L.

Puk was brilliant for the Marlins before landing on that I.L, after picking up yet another Save May 10th. The former Oakland Athletic Saved yesterday's 1 Run Affair as well, his 7th. In fact, Puk has locked down every Marlins Game he's Pitched in when given the ball with the Lead in the 9th Inning or later. While pitching parts of 3 scoreless 9th Innings in which the Game was tied and the Marlins eventually Won.

A Left Handed Arm that stepped up in a big way during Puk's absence was that of Tanner Scott's. Scott, who quietly Saved 20 games last year, has a 1.29 ERA since April 29th. He's Struck Out an astonishing 34 Batters in 21 Innings of work, to only 9 Walks during that span, while picking up a Save along the way with 8 Holds 💪.

Andrew Nardi too has a Save this year, locking down a 14 Inning 1 Run Win for the Fish in Wrigley back on May the 7th. Since May, 'the Nard dog' has been turned up to an 11 from the Left Side. Nardi's Pitched in parts of 18 Games since the Calendar switched to Mayo, and tossed 16.2 Innings of Unearned Run Baseball. Pounding the zone with 21 K's to only 4 BB's and beginning to enter in leverage situations, tallying 5 Holds in the process.

May was also very kind to Lefty Steven Okert, whose seemed to find his Slider again, while throwing his Fastball for Strikes more consistently. It's contributed to a 1.10 ERA since month number 5, with only 5 Walks in that time, all while racking up 26 K's, 4 Holds, and 3 Wins.

All while the Marlins continue to rack up up those W's in the Win column.
