Should be a fun one tonight.

 

Fresh off a winning Road-Trip and a .500 Homestand, the Marlins hit the Road once more to Pittsburgh P.A to face Rookie phenom Paul Skenes and the Pirates. The last time the Fish were in PNC Park, the Franchise was celebrating a Playoff berth almost a full year ago. While things have certainty gone in the opposite direction this year for the Marlins, they will be featuring some talented Rookies of their own in this Series.





Empezamos con Connor Norby, quién mandó 3 para la calle durante los últimos 2 Partidos contra Filadelfia Sabado y Domingo. 3 Jonrones, mandando la bola en el proceso por la parte más grande del terreno de juego en Miami. Norby, adquirido por Trevro Rogers éste pasado 2 de Agosto, a empezado su carrera como Marlin con el pie derecho sin lugar a duda.

Hablando de Novatos, hoy los Marlins le dan la bola al novato Valente Bellozo. El Derecho fue obentindo por la Organización en Abril durante un cambio por Jacob Amaya con Houston (Amaya fue intercambiado por Miguel Rojas en Diciembre del 2022). Bellozo; de Mexicali, Mexico, ha abierto varios ojos en sus 9 Juego de Grandes Ligas. Con Record de 2-2 y Promedio de 3.78.






Otto López también fue adquirido éste pasado Abril, pero de los Gigantes de San Francisco. Lopez a recibido bastante oportunidad en Miami (Jugó en solo 9 Juegos de MLB desde 2021), luciendo tremendo guante en la Segunda (También a Jugado SS, 3B, y el OF). López, quién se encuentra en buena racha (Batea .300 desde el 5 de Agosto), perfila más como Jugador Utility, algo que todos los Clubes necesitan, al igual corre las bases excepcionalmente.  






Considerado como Novato, aunque debutó muy bien en el 2023 (hasta jugó en los Playoffs), Xavier Edward continúa demostrando su habilidad en el Plato. Batea .325, con OBP de .399, OPS de .800, y convirtiéndose en el Segundo Marlin (Luis Arraez) para completar un Ciclo. Mientras que a robado 25 Bases y un puesto en el Starting Lineup en el 2025 (Aunque nunca se sabe con Peter Bendix).







These 4 Ballplayers are receiving extended looks in the Show, but aren't the only ones having a cup of coffee in the Big Leagues. We previously mentioned Griffin Conine earning some playing time down the stretch. Over the weekend the Marlins also called-up Javier Sanoja, after quite the array of Injuries affected the Club. Really interesting seeing a Lineup yesterday featuring Edwards, Norby, Conine and Sanoja. Perhaps a peek into the Marlins future. 


Should be a fun Series in the Burg, where the Fish will also see old friend Bryan De La Cruz.

  As the Major League Baseball Regular Season comes to it's finish this weekend (well, kind of 🍑🍎), it's been crunch time for numerous Teams (some not even in the Playoff Race), all as October draws ever so closer.   As the Marlins completed their penultimate Road Trip of 2024, going 1-6 against two mediocre Teams of the National League in Pittsburgh & Washington, they'll now return Home to face the Club with the 2nd best record in all of Baseball in the L.A Dodgers starting tomorrow night. The Fish now stand at 55-95, a whopping 40 Games Under .500 with 12 Games remaining. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp still have a week to go on their 2024 Calendar, the last Marlins Minor League Affiliate with Game action remaining. Lefthander Dale Stanavich will get a Promotion for this final week from Double-A Pensacola, who played their final Contest of 2024 yesterday. Stanavich put up some solid numbers out of the Blue Wahoos Bullpen and was a part of the 2023 Jupiter Hammerheads Title run last year. Positives in the Rough

Not the easiest thing to find positives on a 54-92 Marlins Squad, especially fresh off being Swept right out of Pittsburgh, P.A (Bruce Sherman, Sell the Team btw ). All notwithstanding, let's head to the Bullpen, where whether by Trade (the likes of Tanner Scott & A.J Puk) or Injury (similarly to Calvin Faucher or Andrew Nardi) the Marlins 'Pen has had a complete overhaul here for the final Month, yet is trying to find a few diamonds in the rough. We formerly had mentioned the name Jesus Tinoco, who has the right to claim the Johnny Cash song 'I've been everywhere' as his MLB theme music. Tinoco has Pitched for 4 MLB Teams, 3 of those Clubs over separate stints (including Florida where he Appeared in 3 Games during the Covid Season of '20).  The 6-4 Right Hander originally signed by the Blue-Jays, has been a part of 6 different Organizations, not including the Seibu Lions of the Japan Professional Baseball League whom Tinoco Pitched for last year.
