Playoffs!

The 2023 Marlins are in the dance baby!!! The Fish clinched a Playoff spot for the 4th time in Franchise History and for only the 3rd time in a Full Season (πŸ’ '97 πŸ˜‰ '03 πŸ’), following a 7-3 Win in Pittsburgh P.A. on Saturday night. The Marlins are in Philadelphia getting set for their best 2 out of 3 Series against the Phillies that get's going tomorrow evening, and what a 'ride' it's been for the Fish to get to this point in Philly.

After climbing all the way to 14 Games Over .500 at the All-Star Break, the Marlins found themselves a Game under the .500 mark and 3 Games back of a Playoff spot on August 30th. The Fish swept a 4 Game Series in Washington to open up September, but lost Sandy Alcantara for the remainder of the Season with a UCL Injury on his Pitching arm.

Guys stepping up when it matters most is what this time of year is all about, and many a Marlin would do just that, taking a series from the 100 Win Dodgers in Miami, then Winning another Series in Philadelphia against the Team they square off with this week in the Postseason. All before the Fish Swept the East Division Winning Braves, Won a Series against the Central Division Winning Brewers at Home, and beat the over $350 Million Dollar making Mets & their grounds crew (guess money can't buy competence, or a Playoff spot for that matter πŸ˜‰).

The Infield in New York was not ready for Tuesday's Game between the Marlins & Mets, forcing the Fish to play a Doubleheader with 6 Games remaining and trailing at the time in the Wild Card Race. The grounds crew did have the time and audacity though, to take a picture in front of the Marlins Dugout as the Game was called on Thursday however.

The Marlins simply found ways to Win those latter two Series despite Kim Ng and the Front Office pretty much capping off phenom Eury Perez's Innings mark for 2023 during the final week of the Regular Season. This on the heels of pushing each Start for their 2 young Left Handers in the Rotation back a day or 2 throughout the month of September in an effort to monitor Innings, resulting in 4 Bullpen Days (In which the Marlins were an incredible 3-1 in).

The Marlins were without Luis Arraez for a week, after the All-Star Second Baseman/Batting Champion/soon to be Silver Slugger/should possibly be a Gold Glover too, slipped down the Marlins Dugout steps when the lights were turned all the way down for the 9th Inning light show in Miami (Get all that?).

Arraez will be back in the Starting Lineup tomorrow, but ain't the only Marlin battling his tail off to be in that Batting Order. Jorge Soler, Josh Bell and Jake Burger have all battled knicks and crannies in the month of September, grinding each day to stay on the Field, all for this moment. To help get the Fish to the Playoffs.

The Marlins will send their aforementioned Lefties JesΓΊs Luzardo & Braxton Garrett to the mound for the 2 Playoff Games at Citizens Bank Park. With Playoff savvy Veteran Johnny Cueto & ultra talented Righty Edward Cabrera waiting in the wings.

Luzardo's power & Garrett's finesse will be on full display in Philadelphia, looking to get the ball to the Marlins Lefties out of the Pen in Set-Up Man Andrew Nardi & Closer Tanner Scott

The Fish's Outfield will feature a Talented trio led by Jazz Chisholm Jr, Bryan De La Cruz and Jesus Sanchez. The latter two Hit massive Home Runs during the Marlins latest trip to the City of Brotherly Love.

Not just the Marlins previous Series with the Phillies, but what a Season Series it's been for the Fish against the Defending National League Champions overall, going 7-6 on the year. Allowing the Marlins to gain confidence that they can not only compete, but Win. This Team has overcome everything that's been thrown at em over the last month, I don't expect that to change in October. Go Fish!
