Región



As the College Baseball Season draws ever so closer to it's finish, we had an opportunity to take in a Regional Game over the weekend in Tallahassee, Florida. The Florida State Seminoles went unbeaten at home during Regionals, taking down UCF both Saturday and Sunday in the process. The Noles will now host a very underrated UConn Team this weekend for a chance at the College World Series. 




FSU's biggest rival, the Florida Gators, certainty shocked Son Los Marlins as well as the Oklahoma State Cowboys, taking down the home Team and winning 3 Games in 2 days in Stillwater, Oklahoma. One could have made the argument UF shouldn't even have been selected for the Tournament to begin with, after a very disappointing Regular Season. Now, after certainty earning they're way into the Super Regionals, the Gators will travel to play a very good Clemson Squad in the Carolinas. 





Without question the biggest underdog Team still alive heading into these Super Regionals has to be the Evansville Purple Aces. Yes, the Evansville Purple Aces are 2 Wins in Knoxville, Tennessee away from the College World Series. All after Evansville was able to take down College Baseball powerhouse ECU in the jungle not once, but twice.





Speaking of powerhouses this year in the NCAA world, a much larger force resides in Athens, Georgia, the home of the Georgia Bulldogs, whom too went unbeaten during Regional play in the Peach State. Georgia will now host the NC State Wolfpack for a chance at being 1 of 8 Teams remaining.





The other 4 Super Regionals will feature the mighty North Carolina Tar Heels hosting West Virginia. Heavy favorites in the Texas A&M Aggies taking on Oregon in College Station. Kansas State at ranked Virginia. While one of the more intriguing matchups during these Super Regionals will take place in Lexington, Kentucky, when the Wildcats play against the sneaky Oregon Sate Beavers.




It all shapes up to be a riveting finish to what's been a fun College Baseball Season. ⚾️.

  As the Major League Baseball Regular Season comes to it's finish this weekend (well, kind of 🍑🍎), it's been crunch time for numerous Teams (some not even in the Playoff Race), all as October draws ever so closer. Both the Dodgers & Yankees clinched their Divisions last night at Home, over the Clubs just beneath them in Standings no less in the Padres & Orioles.  While there's not much surprise in that L.A & the Yanks are headed to October once again, the same can't be said about Detroit and Kansas City.   As the Marlins completed their penultimate Road Trip of 2024, going 1-6 against two mediocre Teams of the National League in Pittsburgh & Washington, they'll now return Home to face the Club with the 2nd best record in all of Baseball in the L.A Dodgers starting tomorrow night. The Fish now stand at 55-95, a whopping 40 Games Under .500 with 12 Games remaining. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp still have a week to go on their 2024 Calendar, the last Marlins Minor League Affiliate with Game action remaining. Lefthander Dale Stanavich will get a Promotion for this final week from Double-A Pensacola, who played their final Contest of 2024 yesterday. Stanavich put up some solid numbers out of the Blue Wahoos Bullpen and was a part of the 2023 Jupiter Hammerheads Title run last year. Speaking of the '23 Hammerheads, fellow Lefty in that Jupiter Bullpen Evan Taylor himself had a solid campaign. Racking up 52 Strikeouts in 44.1 Innings for High-A Beloit, to the tune of 2.84 ERA. Ta

Positives in the Rough

Not the easiest thing to find positives on a 54-92 Marlins Squad, especially fresh off being Swept right out of Pittsburgh, P.A (Bruce Sherman, Sell the Team btw ). All notwithstanding, let's head to the Bullpen, where whether by Trade (the likes of Tanner Scott & A.J Puk) or Injury (similarly to Calvin Faucher or Andrew Nardi) the Marlins 'Pen has had a complete overhaul here for the final Month, yet is trying to find a few diamonds in the rough. We formerly had mentioned the name Jesus Tinoco, who has the right to claim the Johnny Cash song 'I've been everywhere' as his MLB theme music. Tinoco has Pitched for 4 MLB Teams, 3 of those Clubs over separate stints (including Florida where he Appeared in 3 Games during the Covid Season of '20).  The 6-4 Right Hander originally signed by the Blue-Jays, has been a part of 6 different Organizations, not including the Seibu Lions of the Japan Professional Baseball League whom Tinoco Pitched for last year.
