Maple Leaf Marlins

Marlins Mexico

Image
With Team Mexico being in the forefront today in the WBC, what better time to finish up our all-Mexico Marlins Squad . Current Marlins 40 Man Roster Player, Jared Serna is currently on the Mexican WBC Team. While former Marlin Robert Garcia pitched a big scoreless Inning against Team USA for the Green, White and Red on Monday. The future of the American Squad also hangs in the balance today, as Team Mexico squares off vs Team Italy (whom are mostly all Americans). Italia defeated the U.S last night, so if Mexico wins tonight, all 3 Teams would finish 3-1 in Group play.  Runs allowed amongst each Nation's Games against one another would then determine which 2 Clubs advance to the WBC Quarter Finals. As it stands now, USA allowed 3 Runs to Mexico on Monday and 8 Runs to Italy yesterday. Mexico allowed 5 Runs Monday, while Italy had 6 Runs score by the U.S yesterday, so if Mexico wins by scoring 5 or more tonight, USA & Mexico are in. If Mexico wins by knotting 4 or ...

Marlins Camp (exciting)

Image
With Pitchers & Catchers having officially reported over 2 full weeks ago. Spring Training Games got underway over the weekend. The WBC is less than a week away from commencing. It's certainly an exciting time in the Baseball calendar.  The Marlins have played their last 4 Grapefruit League Contests in Palm Beach County, but will now head over to the west coast of the State to face the Defending A.L Champion Toronto Blue Jays in Dunedin, Florida. They'll then stay on the Gulf of Mexico to face the Phillies for a second time this week, in Clearwater on Friday. The Jupiter contest vs the Phils Tuesday featured the Spring Training debut for the Fish of Chris Paddack. Now that's "Spring debut" and not "Organizational debut", because remember Paddack was a former 8th Rd. Pick by the Fish in 2015, then turned into enough of a Prospect to be Dealt to the Padres for Fernando Rodney about a year later. San Diego certainly won that Trade, though Paddack has...

Jupiter Academy

Image
Present/Here!! It was roll call time in Marlins Camp this week. I was able to make the trek down to Jupiter, FL this morning to visit what the Fish are calling the newly renovated "Jupiter Academy". There was a ribbon cutting on Monday, as the first official Full Squad workouts for the 2026 Marlins took place. There were also tours to the upgraded facility on Wednesday the 11th, when Pitchers & Catchers commenced. Spring Training has arrived. The Fish begin Exhibition play on Saturday vs the Team they met last in '25 in the New York Metropolitans (whom were Eliminated from Postseason contention on the final day of the Regular Season by the Marlins, AGAIN!!!). Coming off a 17 Win improvement in 2025, expectations are definitely higher heading into '26 in South Florida. The payoff of a Rebuild which began during the 2024 Season, are beginning to bear fruit for the Fish.  A solid group of Position Players the likes of Kyle Stowers, Otto López, Agustín Ramírez, Jacob...

🚫 Panthers 🚫

As we take a quick break from our All-International Marlins breakdowns heading into the World Baseball Classic. To commence the new year, the Fish did trade 2 Starting Pitchers whom were Arbitration eligible ($)/Hurlers whom also came with plenty of Injury history. The UFC makes its Paramount debut in a little over a week's time. The Miami Hurricanes are playing for a College Football National Champ ionship on Monday for the first time in 22 Years! I'm coming back myself from an amazing European trip with my Suomi brothers in the north!! We'll get into all of it, but in the words of the great Peter Griffin, "You know what really grinds my gears"? What the back to back Defending Champion Florida Panthers did, or better yet, didn't have the balls to do yesterday.  We're certainly living in (for lack of a better word) interesting times these days. Long gone are those traditions when a Champion from each Sport would visit the White House and present the Pre...
